Pawleys Island Weddings - Maria + James

On Saturday, December 13th Craig and I shot our last wedding of 2010 and we ended with such a fun couple! (as you can tell from the above picture...)

Maria and James exchanged vows at Precious Blood Catholic Church amongst the bright red poinsettias and the giant Christmas tree on the alter there. They were wed on the same day that Maria's parents were wed 33 years before!

The reception was held at the Debordieu Colony (www.debordieu.com) with Joe Durivage (www.myrtlebeachdjs.com) keeping the music rolling Elizabeth Hodges (www.grandoccasions-inc.com), the beautiful cake by Myra at Incredible Edibles (www.incredibleediblecakes.com) and the gorgeous floral design done by Mark Gladden (www.mgladdendesigns.com).

As Maria put it, the night "was all I ever hoped and dreamed it would be- truly magical."

We want to wish Maria and James all the love and laughter that a marriage can bring! Have fun in Hawaii and Mele Kalikimaka!

AND JUST A LITTLE EXPLANATION OF THE PHOTOS BELOW:
Maria wanted to have something "thrown" as they left the reception, but didn't like the idea of rice hurting the birds, so since the evening theme was "Low Country," grits were thrown instead! It sounded like a good idea at first...but since the evening was a little rainy, it seemed to stick to them like GLUE!

(I have a few recipes that call for grits, and I will email them to you later, Maria! I am SURE you collected enough for at least a couple of dinners!) :)
